The 2026 Simola Hillclimb once again showcased South Africa's passion for motorsport, with one of the event's highlights being the inaugural King of the Swifts competition.

Designed to celebrate one of the country's most popular hatchbacks, the competition saw Suzuki Swift drivers battle it out on the famous 1.9 km hill in Knysna.

A New King of the Swifts

Following multiple qualifying sessions, Sam De Fonseca claimed the title after producing the fastest performance during the final runs.

Although several competitors experienced minor mishaps along the challenging course, the event delivered exciting racing and demonstrated the capabilities of the compact hatchback.
