South Africa's used vehicle market continued to perform well during June 2026, with strong demand across a variety of passenger vehicles and bakkies. The latest sales data highlights the brands and models most frequently purchased by South African motorists.

Volkswagen once again led the list of the country's best-selling used vehicle brands, followed by Toyota, Ford, Suzuki and Chery.

Among individual models, the Volkswagen Polo Vivo remained one of the most popular choices, while vehicles such as the Suzuki Ertiga, Ford Ranger and Nissan NP200 also featured prominently in the latest sales rankings.

In the commercial vehicle category, the Ford Ranger and Nissan NP200 continued to dominate used bakkie sales, reflecting ongoing demand for practical work vehicles.

The latest figures also indicate that the average age of a used vehicle sold during June 2026 was four years and four months, providing insight into the current state of South Africa's pre-owned vehicle market.
